About the project

History...

What is CUTIE?

CUTIE naturally evolved from the groundbreaking CUTE project (2019-2022), dedicated to exploring Competencies for Universities through the seamless integration of Technology in Education. Inspired by the continuous inquiries and emerging opportunities from CUTE, CUTIE was conceived to push boundaries further, including the integration of student voices into DigCompEdu and the training of individuals responsible for leadership roles within our institutions.

CUTIE Aims to…

Institutional development

craft innovative strategies aimed at elevating and fortifying digital competencies in university teaching, designed for seamless implementation across institutional and departmental tiers. This approach aims to catalyze a systemic impact, transcending individual perspectives on Digital Teaching Competence. Instead, it advocates for an institutional paradigm shift, wherein the entire organization is actively engaged, recognizing DigCompEdu as a pivotal factor in the digital transformation of Higher Educational Institutions.

A unique approach

Integrating students' voices

We are committed to the active participation of students through partnerships and co-creation in shaping institutional teachers' digital competencies. Recognizing students as vital community members and the foremost beneficiaries of DigCompEdu, our initiative places emphasis on their engagement through student partnerships and co-creation. By involving students as central figures, we adopt a holistic approach that directly addresses the profound impact of DigCompEdu on the individuals it serves.

Design & technical development

Empowering HE

We aspire to create an impactful online course tailored for Higher Education (HE) managers, empowering them to spearhead the local development of teachers' digital competencies. This comprehensive initiative encompasses the writing, design, and technical development of Open Educational Resources (OER), Training, Continuous Professional Development resources, and online course materials. Additionally, an implementation guide will be crafted, equipping educators and educational staff with the essential tools and guidance needed for a successful integration of digital competencies into their teaching practices.

Reach

Joint the CUTIE's conversation

We are establishing the CUTIE channel, a diverse information channel, encompassing platforms such as Instagram, Mastodon, X, LinkedIn, podcasts, and our blog to enhance the discourse on fostering DigCompEdu in Higher Educational Institutions. Recognizing this conversation as a global dialogue, we aim to disseminate our deliverables and engage in debates through participation in external events and publications. By doing so, we extend the reach of CUTIE's objectives, supporting teachers in the development of digital competencies and facilitating their systematic implementation within higher education institutions for a more profound and widespread impact.
